Washington and Du Bois

Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois were the two most prominent leaders of the African American community in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Each man saw education as a crucial component of improving the conditions of the African Americans, but they had vastly different ideas on the form and objective of this education.
